What is Young Living?
Young Living is a world leading Essential oil Company. They’ve been in business over 20 years and are constantly setting the standard in the Essential oil industry. They are one of a handful of companies that offers tested, high quality, Therapeutic grade Essential oils (I could write a lengthy post about how awesome this company is but that’s not today’s topic, Please check out my oil page or my post about the Young Living convention for more on my experiences).
Today’s post is going to cover the most popular Premium Starter Kit, which is an amazing way to introduce yourself to high grade oils and this awesome company. I’ll go over what’s in a kit, some uses for the oils, and why it’s such a good idea to purchase.
Please note that this isn’t really a sponsored post, but I do sell Young Living and if this post inspires you to buy something and you use my member number I will earn a commission on it. All opinions are my own. I chose to sell Young Living because I love the products and believe in them.

How can you use them?
Essential oils can be diffused, applied topically, or in some cases ingested (Here’s where I let you know that I am not a healthcare provider, and anything on this blog is not meant to be medical advice. You should seek competent medical advice for any health concerns or if want to add Essential oils to your health maintenance. – please see my Terms and Conditions for my full disclosure). The more I learn about Essential oils the more I use them, from my morning shower scrub and toothpaste to laundry and pest control. Have a problem? I’ve got an oil for that.
Lets break it down oil by oil shall we?
Panaway. (contains Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, & Peppermint). Can be used with a carrier oil for an overall relaxing massage (the wintergreen and peppermint have cooling properties). I love using it for a relaxing massage.
Citrus Fresh. (contains Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, and Spearmint) Is an uplifting and fresh scent that’s wonderful to diffuse or to use as a linen spray. It can also be a wonderful addition to your skin care regime (just be aware of citrus’s photosensitivity properties and don’t use before going out in the sun or cover up and protect your skin if you do).
Raven. (Ravintsara, Lemon, Wintergreen, Peppermint, Eucalyptus radiata). This blend has a cooling sensation when applied topically and can be soothing to your respiratory system.
Frankincense. Mix a few drops into your favorite lotion or carrier oil and use to help smooth the appearance of your skin and highlight your natural beauty.
Lavender. Lavender is a very versatile oil, commonly used for it’s calming scent. Try adding it to a spray bottle and misting your pillows. I also use it with a carrier oil and apply it to my skin.
I find that I use most of these oils everyday
Lemon. Here is another versatile oil. Add it to your nightly moisturizer to help combat blemishes, or your conditioner to add shine to your hair. It’s scent is uplifting when diffused and makes a wonderful addition to naturally derived cleaners. **Lemon oil can cause Photosensitivity, so avoid applying it to skin before sun exposure**
Copaiba. Mix with honey and warm water for a relaxing tea or add to your moisturizer to help enhance the appearance of healthy skin.
Digize. (contains Tarragon, Juniper, Anise, Ginger. Fennel, Patchouli, Peppermint & Lemongrass) Diffuse in the evening for a relaxing scent. Can be use topically or ingested to help support wellness.
Thieves. (contains Clove, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Lemon, & Eucalyptus radiata) This oil blend is great for cleaning pretty much anything. Mix 5 drops with a mason jar full of baking soda and sprinkle onto carpets a few minutes before vacuuming to eliminate odors. I also love using it to deep clean my washing machine.
Peppermint. Use peppermint in a bath, or during a massage for an uplifting and relaxing scent. I also like adding it to drinks, like my peppermint mocha.
StressAway. (contains Copaiba, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Octea, & Lavender) Helps promote relaxation, diffuse or apply topically. It’s great when stuck in traffic (I keep mine in my purse for just that reason).
NingXia Red sample. NingXia Red is a liquid supplement full of antioxidants and other vitamins. It’s sweet and tangy in flavor and made with Wolfberries (a relitive of the goji berry). A serving size is 1 fl oz and can be taken as a shot or mixed with a smoothie or juice. I’ve even had it as a slushie.
Thieves cleaner sample. This is a sample of the concentrated cleaner. pour it in a glass or medical grade spray bottle and top it off with water and start cleaning. This is a new addition to the starter kits and I wish it was in my kit when I started, I would of bought the cleaner soon had I known how awesome it was.
Why is it a good deal?
The kit above is $160 + tax and shipping. If you were to buy everything in the kit individually it would be over $340. Bottom line- your saving a ton of money, getting a big selection of oils to use, and getting an awesome diffuser to help experience those oils.
When you buy a premium starter kit you also sign up as a member, qualifying you for wholesale pricing, which will save you 24% off retail pricing on all your future orders.
Buying a kit also connects you with the Young Living community, there are multiple ways to connect with others and ask questions and get more ideas for using your oils.

This is an optional prompt when you sign up. You can bypass it for now, but If you think you’ll buy products monthly (or find yourself ordering monthly) you NEED to be on Essential rewards.
Why? So you can earn rewards points (which can be redeemed for product), get discounted shipping, and have the ability to earn free product. As a bonus if you stay on Essential Rewards you get a loyalty gift every three months.
It’s easy to change your monthly order, redeem your points and if your not using it it’s also easy to call and cancel your subscription (though you’ll loose any unspent points). The minimum order is 50 pv (most products have the same pv as price) and it’s super easy to order $50+ of products. Young Living not only has a ton of oils to try but they also have other awesome products, like their makeup line, their thieves cleaning products, and their line of supplements.
